Local first responders Sunday afternoon responded to two separate car accidents in the Five Towns. There were no serious injuries in either crash.

The first incident occurred on the Nassau Expressway at Mott Avenue in Inwood, where a driver left the roadway and flipped on the shoulder. The Inwood Fire Department responded to the scene. The driver was out of the car on arrival and refused medical attention. Fourth Precinct officers diverted traffic as the vehicle was uprighted.

The second accident took place at Peninsula Boulevard and Edward Avenue in Woodmere. Woodmere firefighters had found a motorist had driven their car into a pole. The occupant was transported by NCPD Ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation. LIPA crews were called in due to the pole being severely compromised.
