Fire Breaks Out at Lawrence Kosher Restaurant

More than 30 firefighters responded to blaze at Cho-Sen Restaurant.

Four local fire departments responded this morning to a fire between the ceiling and roof of Lawrence’s , a popular kosher Asian restaurant, according to a fire official.

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department was alerted to the fire at 6:14 a.m. by a Nassau County police officer on patrol, according to Second Deputy Chief Anthony Rivelli. Thirty LCFD firefighters in six pieces of apparatus responded to the fire and were aided by the Inwood, Hewlett and Woodmere fire departments. The fire was under control at 7 a.m.

No injuries were reported and the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s office, Rivelli said. The fire caused moderate damage to the restaurant.
