Fourth Precinct Report, April 19 to 27

Police report DWI arrests and incidents of identity theft, fraud, theft and damage.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

DWI arrests

  • Anthony Lepre, 63, of Long Beach, was arrested on April 22 and charged with DWI at the intersection of Park Street and Ulster Avenue in Atlantic Beach.
  • Mark Smith, 39, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on April 24 and charged with DWI at the intersection of Sheridan Boulevard and Maple Avenue in Inwood.

Identity theft/fraud

  • A resident of Church Avenue in Cedarhurst reported to police on March 20 that they were the victim of identity theft when a fraudulent Dell account was opened in their name.
  • A resident of Clinton Avenue in Inwood reported to police on April 14 that they were the victim of identity theft when a fraudulent charge was made to their Visa credit card at a Target store.
  • A resident of Rosedale Road in North Woodmere reported to police on April 20 that they were the victim of identity theft when multiple checks were fraudulently cashed from the victim's Chase checking account.
  • A resident of Rochester Avenue in East Atlantic Beach reported to police on April 25 that they were the victim of identity theft when multiple department store credit cards were opened fraudulently in their name.

Damage/theft

  • A complainant reported to police on April 20 that an unknown truck rolled on to the sidewalk on Club Drive in Woodmere, cracking it and leaving tire tracks on their lawn.
  • The complainant reported to police on April 22 that the front passenger window of their vehicle was broken and a GPS unit was missing while the vehicle was parked on Wahl Avenue and Douglas Street in Inwood.
  • A resident of Bayview Avenue in Inwood reported to police on April 23 that an unknown person broke their bathroom window.
  • A complainant reported to police on April 24 that an empty liquor bottle was thrown through the rear window of their vehicle while it was parked in a driveway on Central Place in Hewlett.
