Fourth Precinct Report, Feb. 8 to 14

DWI, stolen property, thefts and others crimes reported by police.

Arrests

  • Javier Rios, 19, of Inwood, was arrested and charged on Feb. 14 with criminal possession of stolen property on Lawrence Avenue in Lawrence.
  • Dean Afflick, 19, of Inwood, was arrested and charged on Feb. 14 with criminal possession of stolen property on Wildacre Avenue in Lawrence.
  • Tommy Lee Leonard, 48, of North Lawrence, was arrested and charged on Feb. 11 with consuming alcohol in a public place and possession of a controlled substance on Lawrence Avenue in North Lawrence.
  • Renen Zhand, 55, of Flushing, was arrested and charged on Feb. 9 with the sale of counterfeit DVDs at the intersection of Broadway and Everit Avenue in Hewlett.
  • Jose Salazar-Erazo, of Jackson Heights, was arrested and charged on Feb. 8 with DWI on Route 878 in North Lawrence.

 Thefts

  • A white Ford van was reported stolen on Feb. 14 from Sheridan Blvd in Inwood.
  • An Inwood resident who lives on Zavatt Street reported to police on Feb. 12 the theft of a cell phone that was in their vehicle, which was parked in front of their residence.
  • A resident of Wilson Street in North Woodmere reported to police on Feb. 10 that the tires and rims from their Nissan were stolen while the vehicle was parked in front of their residence.
  • A complainant reported to police on Feb. 9 that their vehicle was broken into and multiple items, including a wallet, were taken while shopping in the Pen Mill Shopping Center in Hewlett.

  • An Inwood resident who lives on Jefferson Street reported to police on Feb. 9 that the front door of their apartment had been damaged.
  • A vacant building on Roger Ave in Inwood caught on fire on the morning of Feb. 10.

 The people named in this report are accused of crimes by police and are assumed innocent until prove guilty in a court of law.
