Fourth Precinct Report, March 9 to 15

Police report an arrest, thefts, identity theft and damage in the Five Towns.

Arrest

  • Michael S. Jones, 30, of the Bronx, was arrested and charged on March 12 for the theft of 12 cans of Red Bull from the CVS located on Burnside Ave in Inwood.

Thefts

  • A cell phone was removed on March 9 to 10 from a vehicle parked on Longview Avenue in North Woodmere, a complainant reported to police.
  • The front window of a vehicle parked on Causeway Avenue in Lawrence was broken on March 11 to 12 and a GPS unit and floor mats were removed, the victim reported to police.
  • A bicycle was stolen on March 13 from the side of a residence on West End Avenue in Inwood, a resident reported to police.

Identity theft

  • A resident of Mill Road in Hewlett reported to police on Dec. 13 that an unauthorized person placed fraudulent transactions on their credit cards.
  • A resident of Eagle Drive in North Woodmere reported to police on March 9 that an unknown person attempted to make a fraudulent purchase using a credit card that was closed in 2009.
  • A resident of Mott Avenue in Inwood reported to police on March 11 that a fraudulent cell phone account was opened in their name.

Damage

  • It was reported to police on March 8 that a rental vehicle was damaged while it was parked on Central Avenue in Cedarhurst.
  • A resident of Washington Avenue in Lawrence reported to police on March 10 that an unknown person kicked their front door, which caused damaged, after watching it on home surveillance video.
  • The security director of Stella K. Abraham School for Girls in Hewlett Bay Park reported to police on March 11 to 12 that a boat that is kept on the property at the school was damaged.
  • A resident of Westminster Road in Cedarhurst reported to police on March 12 that their rear door window and doorknob were damaged.
  • A resident of Brower Avenue in Woodmere reported to police on March 13 that the hood of a vehicle parked in the driveway was damaged.
