Fourth Precinct Report, May 17 to 24

Police report arrests for DWI and incidents of theft, identity theft and mischief.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

DWI

  • Matthew Torres, 27, of Levittown, was arrested on May 21 and charged with DWI at the intersection of Beech Street and Mohawk Avenue in East Atlantic Beach.
  • Danielle Lovarco, 25, of Massapequa Park, was arrested on May 22 and charged with DWI at the intersection of Nassau Expressway and Rock Hall Road in Lawrence.
  • Clinton Wilson, 60, of Springfield Gardens, was arrested on May 22 and charged with DWI after an auto accident at the intersection of Rockaway Turnpike and East Avenue in Meadowmere.

Theft/Identity theft/mischief

  • An alarm clock and kids clothing that was dropped off by UPS were taken from the front of a residence located on Addison Street in Woodmere, a complainant reported to police on May 12.
  • A laptop was taken from an unlocked locker at HAFTR in Cedarhurst, a complainant reported to police on May 17.
  • A jewelry box and two rings were taken from a Lefferts Road residence in Hewlett Bay Park, a complainant reported to police on May 17.
  • Two unknown subjects ordered multiple drinks at Applebee's, located on Rockaway Blvd in Meadowmere, and fled without paying the bill, a complainant reported to police on May 18.
  • A resident of White Drive in Cedarhurst reported to police on May 18 that they were the victim of identity theft when multiple fraudulent withdrawals were made from their checking account.
  • Debit and credit cards, $30 and personal papers were taken from an unlocked vehicle on Adams Road in Hewlett Harbor, a complainant reported to police on May 19. Fraudulent charges were valued at about $372, police said.
  • A resident of Walcott Avenue in Inwood told police on May 19 that he had received an e-mail from an unknown person who claimed they worked for Dell in Australia and were hiring him to work for the company. The suspect requested the victim to send $4,960 to two separate clients via Western Union, according to the complainant. The victim was then notified the money had been withdrawn from his bank account without his permission.
  • A GPS unit and $25 in change were taken from a vehicle that was parked on Fulton Street in Lawrence, a complainant reported to police on May 19.
  • A GPS unit and $25 were taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Club Drive in Hewlett Harbor, a complainant reported to police on May 19.
  • A GPS unit was taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Channon Road in Hewlett, a complainant reported to police on May 19.
  • License plates and a registration were taken from a vehicle that was parked in front of JC Auto Repair in Inwood, a complainant reported to police on May 20.
  • An air conditioning unit was removed from the window of Chante Claire’s Design, located on Park Street in Atlantic Beach, a complainant reported to police on May 20.
  • A cell phone was taken from the AT&T store located on Rockaway Turnpike by an unknown subject, a complainant reported to police on May 20.
  • Ten dollars in coins was taken from a vehicle that was parked on Oak Street in Woodmere, a complainant reported to police on May 22.
  • An iPod and coins were taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked in a driveway on Cedar Lane in Woodmere, a complainant reported to police on May 22.
  • An unlocked vehicle that was parked on Zavatt Street in Inwood was keyed and ransacked by an unknown person, a complainant reported to police on May 23.
