Fourth Precinct Report, May 24 to 31

Police report arrests and incidents of damage, theft and identity theft.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

  • George Menendez, 21, of Lawrence, was arrested on May 25 at the scene of an auto accident in East Rockaway and charged with DWI.
  • Dana Russell, 35, of East Rockaway, was arrested on May 30 and charged with shoplifting assorted merchandise at on Peninsula Boulevard in Hewlett.

Theft/damage/identity theft

  • Two lawn mowers were removed from a detached garage located on Mott Avenue in Inwood, a complainant reported to police on May 26.
  • A roll of quarters, satellite receiver, a Bluetooth headset and GPS unit were removed from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Cumberland Place in Lawrence, the victim reported to police on May 26.
  • Plastics hubcaps that are valued at about $400 were taken off of a vehicle that was parked on Chestnut Street in Cedarhurst, a complainant reported to police on May 26. No damage was reported.
  • A resident of Longview Avenue in North Woodmere reported to police on May 26 that he was the victim of identity theft when an unknown person attempted multiple transactions on his Chase credit card.
  • A GPS unit, ratchet set and $200 were taken from an unlocked vehicle that was parked on Miffitt Avenue in Hewlett, the victim reported to police on May 28.
  • A GPS unit, iPod and sunglasses were taken from two vehicles that were parked on Princeton Avenue in Hewlett, the victim reported to police on May 28.
  • A wallet and $400 were removed from the center console of a vehicle that was parked on Moffitt Avenue in Hewlett, a complainant reported to police on May 28.
  • The hood of a vehicle that was parked on Rochester Avenue in East Atlantic Beach was reported damaged to police on May 30.
