Fourth Precinct Report, May 3 to 10

Police report an arrest and incidents of damage, theft and identity theft.

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrest

  • Rafael Mulhall, 25, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on May 9 and charged for the theft of assorted soaps at on Peninsula Boulevard in Hewlett.

Damage/theft/identity theft

  • A resident of Broadway in Lawrence reported to police on April 28 that they were the victim of identity theft when a JC Penny credit card was fraudulently opened in their name.
  • A resident of Ocean Boulevard in Atlantic Beach reported to police on May 3 that a watch, TV and autographed jersey was missing from their summer residence.
  • A LIPA security guard reported to police on May 7 that an unknown subject cut a hole in the chain link fence at a LIPA-owned yard in Hewlett and attempted to remove copper wire.
  • XSRE on Rockaway Turnpike in North Lawrence reported to police on May 7 that an unknown person was seen taking costume jewelry from a display and placing the items inside a duffle bag.
  • A complainant reported to police on May 7 that the driver’s side window of their vehicle was shattered while it was parked on Willard Drive in Hewlett.
  • A complainant reported to police on May 7 that the driver’s side windows and back windshield of a marked auxiliary police vehicle were damaged while it was parked on Macy Drive and Cedar Avenue in Hewlett Bay Park.
  • A complainant reported to police on May 7 that the side and front window of their vehicle was broken, possible with a BB gun, while it was parked on Seawane Lane in Hewlett Harbor.
  • A complainant reported to police on May 8 that the front door handle of their vehicle, which was locked and parked at the Cedarhurst LIRR station overnight, was ripped from the door, a mirror was broken and the door and trunk was unsuccessfully pried.
