Story and photo courtesy of Inwood Fire Department

The Inwood Fire Department on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. responded to a two-car crash at Doughty Boulevard and Wanser Avenue. Firefighters didn't have to go far as the accident occurred in front of the firehouse.

EMS personnel began to stabilize an injured driver from one of the vehicles. Firefighters quickly put the "Jaws of Life" into operation to remove the driver side door. Once the driver was extricated from the vehicle he was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The other motorist was not injured as a result of the crash.
