Inwood Teen Arrested for Biting and Robbing Another Teen, Police Say

Alleged assault occurred on Tuesday near Lawrence High School.

An Inwood teenager was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly bit a 14-year-old on his upper right arm and stole his iPhone in Cedarhurst, according to police.

Christopher Johnson, 17, apparently approached the 14-year-old male on Tuesday around 2:45 p.m. as the victim was walking home on Reilly Road after leaving . Johnson allegedly threatened him with bodily harm if he did not hand over what he had in his pockets, police said.

The 14-year-old attempted to flee, but was pushed to the ground by Johnson, according to detectives. Johnson then tried to remove the iPhone from the teen’s pocket, who struggled to keep his phone. That’s when the defendant allegedly bit the 14-year-old on the upper right arm, breaking the skin and causing it to bleed. Johnson then fled the scene with the iPhone.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his injuries, police said.

After an investigation by detectives, Johnson turned himself in at the on Wednesday and was placed under arrest.

Johnson is being charged with robbery and assault. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
