Update: Inwood Woman Found

Update: Police said on Friday at 12:44 that Nellie Dees has been found. Original story follows.

A Silver Alert was issued for a missing Inwood woman who was last seen Tuesday afternoon.

According to police, Nellie Dees, 71, was last spotted on Bayview Avenue at 2:40 p.m. She's described as an black woman, five feet tall and 110 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a blue nightgown, black coat, white socks and white sneakers.

She's an Alzheimer's patient, and cops believe she could be headed towards Queens. Anyone with any information is urged to call their local precinct.

The Silver Alert Program has been established in order to disseminate immediate information to local media, hospitals and other organizations when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing.
