Innocent Bystander Shot in Inwood

Police are searching for those responsible, and she was admitted to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Nassau County Police are trying to identify the person responsible for shooting an Inwood woman Wednesday morning.

According to police, at 12:30 a.m., Fourth Precinct officers responded to a call on Bayview Avenue for a 31-year-old female victim who sustained a gunshot wound. An ensuing investigation revealed that an altercation between unknown black men resulted in shots being fired, police said.

The victim was not involved in the altercation, detectives added, and she was taken to a nearby hospital where she was admitted with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the pelvic area.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
