LCFD Puts Out Car Fire on Rockaway Turnpike

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department on Thursday at 4:10 p.m. responded to a car fire next to the convenience store in North Lawrence. 

The owner of the 1994 Lincoln Town Car had just parked and went inside the store for some items. Upon his return the car was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters arrived on scene and quickly extinguished the fire. Only minor damage occurred to the building. No injuries occurred and southbound traffic on Rockaway Turnpike was only disrupted for 30 minutes.
