LCFD Responds to Garage Fire in Lawrence

No injuries were reported after non-suspicious fire.

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department responded on Friday at 5:02 p.m. to a house fire at 54 Margaret Avenue off Broadway in Lawrence.

LCFD responded with 30 firefighters and was assisted with mutual aide from Inwood, Hewlett and Woodmere fire departments.

The fire started in the garage which was attached to the house. Firefighters performed an aggressive attack and quickly extinguished the blaze. Nobody was injured and all units left the scene in 45 minutes.

Structural damage was confined to the garage with some water damage on the first floor and smoke throughout the home. The fire was not suspicious.
