Living Room Fire Put out at Inwood Home

Firefighters Wednesday evening battled a blaze that started in the living room of an Inwood home.

The call for the fire came in at 6:45 p.m. at 324 Finger Island Rd., according to fire officials. Twenty Inwood firefighters on five trucks responded under the command of Chief Anthony Rivelli Sr. The occupants had left the home.

The Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department assisted, and the Hewlett Fire Department stood by as the rapid intervention team. A rescue company from the Meadowmere Park Fire Department was also on scene.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal but did not appear suspicious.
