Police: Long Beach Woman Cashed Cedarhurst Company's Checks Without Permission

Checks cashed over eight months totaled about $15,000.

A Long Beach woman was arrested on Friday for cashing numerous checks, totaling about $15,700, without the consent of her Cedarhurst employer, according to police.

Osnat Edrich, 49, a bookkeeper for an equities firm in the village, was responsible for making bank deposits, according to police. She cashed the checks in a period starting in April 2009 and ending in December 2010. She was arrested Friday at 2:20 p.m.

Edrich is charged with third-degree grand larceny and is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
