Man Flown to Hospital After Motorcycle Crash

Serious accident occurred around 7:45 p.m.

Nassau County Police officers and members on Monday responded to a serious accident involving a motorcycle on the Seagirt Boulevard overpass and Route 878 in Lawrence at 7:45 p.m.

A man apparently lost control of his bike while traveling on Seagirt Boulevard and was thrown onto the roadway, suffering serious injuries. Firefighters from LCFD treated the aided and transported him via ambulance to a landing zone that was secured on the north side of the Atlantic Beach Bridge for a Nassau police helicopter.

The aided was transported via the police helicopter to North Shore Hospital in Manhasset for further treatment. The roadway in the area was closed due to an ongoing police investigation into the cause.
