Update: Man Stable After Being Shot in North Woodmere

Police believe victim shot multiple times after attempted robbery.

A 39-year-old man was shot multiple times Wednesday night in North Woodmere in an attempted robbery and airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center from North Woodmere Park, according to police.

The victim, who has not been named, was standing near a Flanders Drive home around 8:13 p.m. when a dark, four-door vehicle filled with an unknown number of black men pulled up next to him, police said. One subject got out of the car, approached the man and asked for his property. The perpetrator then shot him multiple times.

The victim is listed in stable condition, according to police. The suspects fled without any proceeds westbound on Flanders Drive.
