Does "The Patch" need a new editor? How about some spell-checking? What's wrong with this?: "On Dec. 24, A vehicle was damaged when someone through a large stone on East Shore Drive, police said." "... someone 'through' a large stone ..." Frankly, I'm getting pretty sick and tired of the way our media is allowing this country to "dummy-down." Enough already!

Concerned Long Islander: I apologize for the errors and thank you for pointing it out. I hope you can be patient enough to understand that all publications have errors from time to time. You used an unusual verb, "to dummy-down," and I'm not entirely sure what you are getting at, but if you feel that Massapequa Patch is somehow having a negative impact on the country as a whole, I want to know about it and fix it. I certainly don't think we've had any intent to do anything other than try to report the news as fairly and as accurately as possible. I'm always interested in hearing opinions about the site and explaining why we do what we do. I thank you for your active participation on our site and hope you can be patient and understand our mission.
