Mom, Sister of Alleged Sexual Abuser Arrested in Murder Plot

Each face up to a year in prison if convicted.

The mother and sister of were arrested on Tuesday for their alleged roles in the involving Miller's sex crime victim, according to the Nassau County District Attorney.

Inwood resident Mary Miller, 80, Daniel’s mother, is charged with official misconduct and faces up to a year in jail if convicted. Ann Miller, 59, also of Inwood and Daniel’s sister, is charged with conspiracy in the sixth degree and fourth-degree tampering with a witness. She faces up to a year in jail if convicted.

Both women received desk appearance tickets and are due back in court for arraignment on Aug. 2.

Police arrested Daniel Miller on April 19 and charged the Inwood shop owner with criminal sexual act in the first degree and other charges for allegedly drugging and sexually assaulting a 17-year-old male employee.

Mary works as a secretary at where the 17-year-old victim goes to school. The source, who Miller and his family allegedly contacted to murder the victim, told the district attorney that Mary had from the school.

Lawrence Schools Superintendent Gary Schall said he could not discuss the case because it is a personnel matter.
