Multiple Cars Damaged Overnight in Inwood

Eleven cars scratched with one windshield broken during overnight incident.

Nearly a dozen cars were damaged during an overnight criminal mischief spree in Inwood Saturday night.

Nassau county detectives say that between Saturday night at 8 p.m. and Sunday morning at 9 a.m., 11 cars were scratched by an unknown object while parked on two blocks in Inwood.

A 2011 Nissan and 2003 Toyota were scratched while parked on Bayview Avenue. The Nissan also had its windshield broken, police said.

Nine more vehicles parked on Henry Street sustained damage when they were also scratched, police said.

Police say the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding these crimes to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
