National Night Out Event Scheduled for Cedarhurst

Nassau County executive and police team up for crime/drug prevention event.

The Nassau County Police Department will participate in the 29th Annual National Night Out, a unique crime/drug prevention event, on Aug. 7, County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Police Commissioner Thomas V. Dale announced. 

National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The will hold its National Night Out event at Cedarhurst Park between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. The administrative sergeant and a police officer will hand out crime prevention flyers and a police dog will perform a brief demonstration.
