Update: Missing North Lawrence Man Found

Silver alert was issued early Friday morning for group home resident.

Update: Joseph Haynes was located, police said.

A 37-year-old North Lawrence man who is mentally challenged and suffers from schizophrenia was reported missing from his group home early this morning, police reported.

A Silver Alert, which is issued when a senior citizen or other individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other cognitive disorders goes missing, was sent out at 1:59 a.m. for Joseph Haynes. The North Lawrence resident is described as white, non-Hispanic, 5 foot 7 inches and 200 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and white and baby blue sneakers. Haynes may have been traveling on foot.

The last place he was seen was at 272 Pearl St. in North Lawrence at 9:17 p.m. on Thursday.

Haynes requires Prozac and Risperdal, the report says.
