Numerous Incidents of Theft Hit the Five Towns, April 17-25

The following information was supplied by the Nassau County Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Calvin Roseburgh, 41, of Far Rockaway, was arrested on April 20 and charged with DWI at Burnside Avenue and Wahl Avenue in Inwood.

William M. Quinn, 25, of Smithtown, was arrested on April 20 and charged with DWAI Drugs on Meadow Lane in Lawrence.

The Fourth Precinct reports the following incidents of theft and mischief:

  • A suspect was stopped by a loss prevention officer at the Costco in North Lawrence for shoplifting on April 12 and worked out an agreement with the store to help catch two other people that were also stealing from the location.
  • Two unknown black female suspects entered the JC Penney’s in Green Acres Mall on April 15 and took merchandise.
  • An unknown suspect on April 15 removed property from behind the Key Food on Railroad Avenue in Woodmere.
  • Two men on April 16 entered the victim's Washington Avenue rear yard in Cedarhurst and removed property.
  • A black male suspect and black female suspect entered the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall on April 17 and removed merchandise.
  • An unknown male white or Hispanic suspect on April 17 entered the victim's truck, which was parked on Dickson Street in Inwood, and stayed in it for almost an hour. He then opened the victim’s garage door and was in it for about 10 minutes before exiting with property.
  • An unknown person(s) on April 18 removed an iPad from the victim’s vehicle that was parked on Rockaway Turnpike in North Lawrence.
  • An unknown person(s) on April 20 took school books and papers from the victim's vehicle that was parked on Park Avenue in Lawrence. The suspect left all the items outside the vehicle. There was no damage to the auto.
  • An unknown person(s) between April 21 and 22 removed the victim's bicycle and chain from the Hewlett LIRR station.
  • An unknown person(s) between April 21 and 22 stole a backpack and stereo speakers from a vehicle that was parked on Caryl Drive in North Lawrence.

The Fourth Precinct reports that the following individuals were arrested and charged with shoplifting:
  • Anatoly Shapkin, 68, of Oceanside, at the Kohl’s on Long Beach Road in Oceanside on April 17
  • Lisa D. Evans, 44, of Manhattan, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on April 18
  • Shenance T. Stephens, 31, of Rosedale, at the Walmart in Green Acres Mall on April 18
  • Jessica Quintero, 25, of Rockaway Beach, and Cynthia Nerys, 23, at the JC Penney in Green Acres Mall on April 19
  • Joseph Mattis, 35, of Brooklyn, at the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall on April 20
  • Mostak Ahamed, 32, of Woodside, and Farzana Subrin, 26, of Queens Village, at the JC Penney in Green Acres Mall on April 20
  • Marcia M. Muir, 44, of Brooklyn, at the JC Penney in Green Acres Mall on April 21
  • James R. Stissi, 46, of Freeport, at the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall on April 21
  • Estefania M. Hernandez, 23, of Valley Stream, at the Kohl’s in Green Acres Mall on April 22
