Police: Attempted Robber Flees After Victim Calls 911

Two women were approached by armed subject in Woodmere.

An armed wannabe robber of two women in Woodmere fled the scene after one of the victims told him she had called 911, according to police.

At about 3:40 a.m. on Friday, the two victims, ages 18 and 20, were walking on Greenfield Road by Eastwood Road when an unknown black man approached them, according to police. While displaying a silver handgun, he demanded the 20 year old’s purse. She refused, and the subject pushed both women to the ground. One of the victims then told the robber that she had called 911. He then fled.

The subject was seen entering the passenger side of a black SUV that was traveling towards Peninsula Boulevard.

 No injuries were reported and there were no proceeds.

The subject is further described as 5 foot 10 inches, about 155 pounds and wearing all black clothing.
