Five store workers from Hewlett, Inwood and Lawrence were arrested Friday night after allegedly attempting to sell alcohol to underage kids.
According to police, the following defendants intentionally acted to sell liquor or beer to an underage agent at the following locations:
- Landmark Deli, 148 Doughty Boulevard, Inwood – Luis Infante, 24, of Inwood, and Mohamed Ghazali, 18, of Far Rockaway.
- , 305 Rockaway Turnpike, North Lawrence – Patel Jayantibhai, 58, of Lawrence.
- , 1743 Peninsula Boulevard, Hewlett – Xuemei Yu, 49, of Queens.
- Bayview Deli, 414 Bayview Avenue, Inwood - Musa Muflehi, 21, of Far Rockaway.
Jayantibhai, Muflehi and Yu are being charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage. Infante is being charged with unlawfully dealing with a child and Ghazali is being charged with criminal solicitation in the fifth degree. They were released on desk appearance tickets and will appear at First District Court in Hempstead on July 18.
The Nassau County Office of Consumer Affairs assisted the Fourth Precinct with these arrests.
