Police: Men Robbed Teen Outside Hewlett Store

East Rockaway and North Woodmere residents arrested after alleged knife-wielding robbery.

Two men were arrested early Thursday after they allegedly mugged a teenager outside a Hewlett convenience store and threatened him with a knife, according to police.

Keith Miles, 19, of East Rockaway, and Nissan Kohen, 19, of North Woodmere, are charged with first-degree and second-degree robbery.

Police said the pair confronted a 15-year-old boy outside In & Out, located at 300 Mill Road, and demanded money.

After the teen handed over his cash, police said Miles and Kohen wanted more. Kohen took out a knife and the victim gave up more money. The defendants then entered a white Ford and fled the scene.

Fourth Precinct police officers arrived on the scene, and after an extensive search, the vehicle and defendants were located in the vicinity of the East Rockaway Long Island Railroad Station.
