Police: Queens Teens Stole Tires, Rims in North Woodmere

Both men were arrested early Sunday morning.

Two teenagers from Queens were arrested Sunday morning after allegedly stealing two car tires and rims in North Woodmere.

According to Nassau County detectives, around 3:10 a.m., police received a call for a male running towards Cedarhurst Street and Park Lane with a car tire and rim in his hand.

Once at the corner, the defendant was met by another male in a gray Nissan Altima, police said. Both defendants placed the tire in the trunk and drove westbound on Park Lane.

According to police, a notification was made and Fourth Precinct police officers observed the vehicle and defendants at Caldwell Avenue North. The vehicle was stopped and the defendants were found to be in possession of two car tires and rims in the trunk of the vehicle.

Joley Aristhee, 19, of Queens Village, and Jawad Jimoh, 18, of Rosedale, were both arrested without incident.

The defendants are being charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree. They will be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
