Police Seek 4 Men who Attempted to Rob Deli

Armed men left empty-handed from Lawrence store, police said.

Four armed men gave up their alleged robbery attempt of Doughty Deli in Lawrence early Friday when they realized the clerk was behind bulletproof glass and fled, according to police.

Detectives said that four black men allegedly entered the store at 50 Doughty Blvd. around 1:30 a.m. with handguns and attempted to rob the clerk, but left the store empty-handed when they noticed the bulletproof glass. No injuries were reported.

All of the subjects are described as black men between the ages of 18 to 25 years-old. One subject is described as 5'10", 160 pounds and wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with dark jeans and sneakers, while a second subject is described as 6'1", 180 pounds and wearing a black jacket with a white hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. A third man is described as 5'11", 140 pounds and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with jeans and black boots, and a final man is described as 5'11", 170 pounds and wearing a black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt and black boots.
