Prosecutors: Psychic Bilked Clients Out of $324,650

Nassau Police arrest Hewlett woman for open warrant from New Jersey.

New Jersey prosecutors have charged a Hewlett woman who works as a psychic with stealing $324,650 from five people and failing to pay income taxes for five years.

Paula Lee, 36, was arrested on June 13 by Nassau County Police for an open warrant from the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office. Her bail was set at $75,000 in a Morris County jail for her alleged thefts between 2004 and 2010.

Lee allegedly convinced the victims to invest in a “church” with the promise of the money being returned, according to complaints signed by the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, the Daily Record reports.

Karen Brown, the person reporting the greatest theft from Lee, sued in Superior Court, Morristown, in 2010, alleging that Lee exploited her depression and made her believe she would die without her assistance.
