Teens Arrested for Attemped Robbery at North Woodmere Park

After making arrangements for an exchange of goods, teens allegedly attempt to rob the victim instead.

Two teens were arrested for Attempted Robbery in North Woodmere Saturday night.

According to Fourth Squad detectives, an 18-year-old male made arrangements with one of the defendants, a 16-year-old Inwood teen, to exchange a cell phone SIM card for a cell phone at North Woodmere Park.

They met on Glenridge Avenue and were approached by the other defendant Osvaldo R. Bonilla, 19, of Far Rockaway, who allegedly demanded the victim’s phone. The victim ran and was pulled down to the ground by the 16-year-old, causing a minor injury to his knee. Defendant Bonilla caught up with the two and allegedly began punching the victim in the face. The defendants fled the scene without getting the victims cell phone and were apprehended nearby. The victim was treated at the scene.

Both defendants are charged with two counts of Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree and will be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead.
