Two People Mugged on Wanser Avenue in Inwood

Robber was armed with a handgun, police said.

A man and a teenager were mugged on Wednesday by an armed robber on Wanser Avenue in Inwood, police said.

At 10:18 p.m. on Sept. 26, the 15-year-old and 20-year-old male victims were walking on Wanser Avenue when an unknown male black subject approached them from behind, according to police. He then demanded the victims' property while showing a handgun. The robber took two cell phones and an uknown amount of money before fleeing westbound on Wanser Avenue. No injuries were reported.

The subject is further described as about 20 years old, 6-foot-1-inches tall and wearing a blue denim jacket and red baseball hat.
