Valley Stream Fire Ruled Arson

Police have ruled a fire that broke out early Sunday at a Valley Stream cleaners arson.

On Dec. 8, at 4:55 a.m., a 911 call was received for smoke in the vicinity of Merrick Road and Central Avenue, according to police. Officers responded and found a working fire at Purr-fect Cleaners, located at 38 South Central Ave.

The Valley Stream Fire Department responded with 50 firefighters and eight pieces of apparatus to extinguish the fire. The Nassau County Fire Marshall was present at scene. No injuries were reported. The investigation is ongoing.
