National Night Out

County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Police Commissioner Thomas V. Dale announced today that the Nassau County Police Department will be participating in the "29th Annual National Night Out" a unique crime/drug prevention event on Tuesday, August 7, 2012.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs;
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The Administrative Sergeant and a Police Officer will attend with crime prevention literature for distribution.  Canine will perform a brief demonstration.
