Five Towns India Association Celebrates Children's Day

Story courtesy Office of Councilman Anthony Santino

The Five Towns India Association was joined by Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony Santino at the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library on April 14 to celebrate Children’s Day.

Santino spent a good portion of the day with children participating in the event, discussing different aspects of Indian culture and contributions to both the United States and the local community.

Children welcomed the councilman, one of several honored guests, with flowers before dancing and singing.

Pictured above is Santino being welcomed by Children’s Day participants as Dr. Anila Midha, president of the Five Towns Indian Association, Baldwinder Kaur and Shaila Fertel look on.
