No Deal Yet on Hewlett Neck Cell Tower

Residents express concerns about appearance of proposed tower at Keystone Yacht Club.

Hewlett Neck officials with T-Mobile representatives about construction of the wireless cell tower proposed at the , the board of trustees said at Monday night’s meeting.

“They have to make it pleasing,” responded the Mayor.

“Maybe they can make it like a mast of a boat," he quipped. "Can you dock your boat back there?”

Before any cell tower goes up, there would have to be a public hearing, Village Clerk Marie Velotti said.

“[T-Mobile] have to abide by codes and we have to abide by codes also," Troyetsky told residents. "We’ll see where we end up. The first choice is to have it on village property, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. It’s still a work in progress.”
