Nov. 13 Update from Lawrence Mayor Martin Oliner

Community meeting to be held tomorrow with FEMA representatives.

LIPA – The village continues to suffer from sporadic outages, as a result of isolated problems including blown transformers. There will also be periodic shut-offs where LIPA will be restoring additional generation equipment. This is likely to continue for the next week. You should plan your purchase of refrigerated and frozen foods accordingly.

FEMA – We have arranged a community town hall meeting with representatives from FEMA for tomorrow, Wed., Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. Since no public buildings are available for the meeting, it will be held at Congregation Beth Sholom, 390 Broadway. FEMA representatives will provide an overview of the FEMA claims process for homeowners and businesses and will be available to answer questions. Stay safe.
