V. ADMINISTRATION 

A. Adoption of the 2013-2014 School Budget 

Recommended motion: “BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Education of the Lawrence Union Free School District, Town of Hempstead hereby moves to adopt the 2013-2014 School Budget in the amount of $________________to be presented to the voters at the May 21, 2013 Annual Meeting.” 

B. Property Tax Report Card 

Recommended motion: “BE IT RESOLVED, that the Lawrence Union Free School District Board of Education, Town of Hempstead approves the 2013-2014 State Education Department Property Tax Report Card as required by the State Education Department. The Board further directs the District Clerk to forward such State Education Department Property Tax Report Card to the State Education Department and the local newspapers immediately.” 

C. Election Chairpeople (Enclosure) 

Recommended motion: “The Board of Education of the Lawrence Union Free School District hereby moves to approve the appointments of the Election Chairpeople for 2013-2014 as presented; and furthermore, the District Clerk is hereby authorized to appoint further Chairpeople as needed.” 

D. Stipulation of Settlement and Discontinuance 

Recommended motion: “BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Lawrence Union Free School District hereby moves to approve the terms and conditions as indicated in the Stipulation of Settlement and Discontinuance for the 2010–2011 and 2011-2012 school year, resolving certain matters between the District and the parents of the youngster classified by the District’s CSE and identified as SED Case #71046.”

G. RFP Insurance Claims Adjusters/Disaster Recovery Consultants 

Recommended motion: “WHEREAS, the Board of Education issued an RFP in order to secure the services of a public insurance claims adjuster to assist in maximizing the recovery to the District for the damages sustained as a result of the Superstorm Sandy; and 

WHEREAS, pursuant to the RFP, proposals were received April 8, 2013; and 

WHEREAS, _______________has demonstrated in its proposal that it has the special skill, training and experience in maximizing insurance recoveries to public entities. 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Board of Education hereby accepts the proposal submitted by____________________ as the public insurance claims adjuster/disaster recovery consultants to assist in securing the maximum recovery pursuant to FEMA and State and local rules and regulations.”
