Rockville Centre PTA and staff to host forum on curriculum, testing, and sharing of students’ personal data.

A forum to discuss the controversial New York State Common Core is set for Thursday night in nearby Rockville Centre.

The forum will bring parents and school staff members to discuss Common Core curriculum, testing, and sharing of students’ personal data via InBloom.

Thursday’s forum will take place at 7:30 p.m. in the South Side Middle School auditorium.

Newspapers and televisions have been filled with stories of parent and professional concerns about the State implementation of its reform agenda and its impact on your children,” wrote an announcement on the Rockville Centre Schools website, saying the Council of PTAs and RVC administrators and teachers will welcome questions and concerns from the community.

Panelists will include Superintendent William H. Johnson, Assistant Superintendent Christopher Pellettieri, Assistant Superintendent Noreen Leahy, Principal Shelagh McGinn, Principal Darren Raymar, Data Coordinator Donald Chung, elementary math teacher Kristi Bonino, elementary teacher Kathi Glass, and AIS and reading teacher Michelle DiMartino.

To submit questions and comments in advance, email RVCCCD@rvcschools.org.
