Book Discussion: Love and Summer

This disucssion will be led by Arlene Guadagno. In Love and Summer, the Irish master William Trevor draws you into a small, provincial village in Ireland (1950s), in this his 14th novel. Trevor depicts a society beginning to move away from the Church's condemnation of sexuality. He matches an exquisite but never precious prose style with wise psychological understanding of the flutter beneath the surface of ordinary lives.

Share Guadagno's life-long love affair with the written word as she reviews this story of two lost souls whose chance meeting changes them forever.
