Music in Art

Thomas Germano, a professor of art history at SUNY Farmingdale, will present this illustrated lecture about artists who have made art inspired by the sounds of music. Caravaggio's Musicians, Vermeer's Women Standing at the Virginal, Picasso's Still Life with Musical Instruments, Leonardo's Musician and the ancient sculpture of Apollo Playing the Lute are among the works to be discussed.
