Registration for Hewlett-Woodmere PreKindergarten Programs

Registration for Hewlett-Woodmere PreKindergarten programs will take place at the FRANKLIN EARLY CHILDHOOD CENTER, 1180 Henrietta Place,  Hewlett  on Monday, February 13th, Tuesday, February  14th, Wednesday February 15th and Thursday February 16th from 9:45 AM to 11:30 AM. For working parents who cannot make the daytime registration, we offer one evening Monday, February 13th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.   All children who  will be four years old on or before December 1st, 2012, are eligible to attend PreKindergarten.

The district is a participant in the NYS funded Universal PreKindergarten program (UPK), which provides the district with the opportunity to collaborate with qualifed community-based organizations that offer PreKindergarten programs.

PreKindergarten is a half-day program sponsored by the school district for all children eligible for Kindergarten the following September.  Parents are responsible for transportation of their children to and from this program.  A certified teacher is in charge of each session assisted by a teacher aide programs.

PLUS Program allows children attending the half-day PreKindergarten program at the Franklin Early Childhood Center the opportunity to extend their day at FECC.  The PLUS Program, which is offered through the Department of Community Services, is tuition based.

BEFORESCHOOL/AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS, offered in cooperation with the Five Town Community Center, are available for working parents, are offered before school every morning from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM (includes breakfast) and after school from 3:00 PM to 5:45 PM.  There is a fee for these programs.
