A HAFTR senior has been named a 2013-14 Long Island Scholar-Artist Award of Merit winner.
Tamara Heller was one of 20 students on Long Island to awarded the distinction, which is sponsored by the Long Island Arts Alliance.
Heller, a member of HAFTR's Art Institute program under the direction of Mrs. Dale Malekoff, will receive her award at a gala at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at Long Island University’s C.W. Post Campus in Brookville.
