In the spirit of Thanksgiving, students participated on Monday in a new and innovative way of collecting cans and non-perishable food that will be distributed to local families in need.

The sixth, seventh and eighth grade students competed in HAFTR Middle School's first annual CAN-Struction. Each grade had to build a structure using only the cans and food that they brought in to be donated.

Sixth graders built a large Hanukkah menorah, seventh graders built a model Beit HaMikdash, and eighth graders built a mini IDF tank. All of the students learned how creativity and Chesed can be combined to make one big Kiddush Hashem.
