Three Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway High School students were awarded medals for their research at the final round of the Long Island Math Fair on April 26 at Hofstra University.

Lauren Schneider and Michael Sosnick captured gold medals. Aliza Blond was awarded a bronze medal. All three students worked with their mentor, mathematics department chairman Neil Bernstein.

Lauren did research on the cardinality of infinite sets, Michael researched fractal geometry, and Aliza investigated the elusive patterns of prime numbers.
