The cast and crew of Hewlett High School’s production of 9 to 5 handed over a check for more than $1,000 on Wednesday to aid the Five Towns Community Chest's efforts to help local victims of Superstorm Sandy.
“The community really has been devastated like I’ve never seen before,” said chest president Steven Spiro. “We look forward to collaborating with the school district further.”
The students also collected clothes and other goods with a box outside the high school auditorium.
Additionally, members of the student council donated clothes and money for Sandy relief.
