Lawrence MS Students Raise Funds for Autism

Items being sold to donate money to Autism Speaks.

Lawrence Middle School students have been making and selling puzzle piece pins, puzzle piece magnets, pencil toppers and beaded bracelets to help raise awareness for national Autism Awareness Month.

The students are from the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) classes, special socialization program (PRISE) and art classes. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Johnson’s classes have been selling these items during lunch to staff and other students. To help educate the student body, morning announcements have included a daily fact about autism.

All the funds raised during the lunch sales will be donated to Autism Speaks. A representative from the organization will be at Lawrence Middle school on May 3, when the students will present a check.
