More than 100 golfers teed it up last Monday at the to support the Kiwanis Club of the Five Towns and it's honoree, Frank Cristo, a local restaurateur and businessman.
The event featured a full breakfast, BBQ and beverages on the course followed by a cocktail hour and dinner. A putting contest (50/50 cash prize) kicked off the day and featured a "Beat the Pro" challenge on the eigth hole manned by local assistant pro Tyler Jaramillo.
Len Brenner and his son Ross won the two-man best ball event with a 75, taking second place honors was Hewlett Harbor Village Trustee Tom Cohen and his partner, former Nassau County Police Commissioner Larry Mulvey, with a 76.
As a follow up to the event, a donation of $1,800 is being made to , an organization chosen by honoree Frank Cristo.
