Voter's Guide: Hewlett-Woodmere, Lawrence School Budget, Board Elections

What you need to know for Tuesday's budget vote and school board election.

School district across the region will be voting on school budgets and elect new board of education trustees on Tuesday. Here is what Hewlett-Woodmere and Lawrence school district residents will vote on Tuesday.

Hewlett-Woodmere District

Hewlett-Woodmere School District residents will vote on the district's $111,955,771 budget for the 2014-15 school year Tuesday.

The proposal calls for a 2.14 percent budget-to-budget increase from last year and a 2.10 percent tax levy increase. 

Incumbents Cheryl May and Scott McInnes are running against Jacob Shafran and Fred Usherson for seats on the Board of Education.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Woodmere Education Center.

Lawrence School District

Lawrence School District residents will vote on the district's $95,615,672 budget for the 2014-15 school year Tuesday.

The proposal calls for a 2.81 budget-to-budget increase from last year and a .90 percent tax levy increase.

Incumbent Murray Forman is running unopposed while incumbent Asher Mansdorf is challenging Asher Matathias.

Voting will take place from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Number Two School, Lawrence Middle School, Lawrence High School, and Atlantic Beach Village Hall.
