Breaking: Lawrence Claims Victory at Conference III Championship
Victory comes after bittersweet defeat at last years title match.
Lawrence’s starting quarterback, sophomore Joey Capobianco, broke a Golden Tornadoes’ passing record on Saturday throwing 333 yards, leading his team to a 64-34 win over Plainedge for the conference III title.
Receiving a total 147 yards with two touchdowns, junior Ed Robinson stepped up under pressure to help his team make a triumphant return after last year’s defeat at the championship game against Lynbrook. Junior Tyler Fredericks rushed 114 yards and scored three touchdowns.
